Christmas Day

Merry Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Horton

The Horton's came for a visit.

-Checked out La Jolla, Torrey Pines and the golf course.

-Took a coast drive up to LA. Got to see Paris Hilton in Beverly Hills cruising.

-Played lots of games.

-Took Chopper to the beach.

-Enjoyed each others time!

Update on Chopper

We know everyone has been wondering how Chopper is adjusting to his new home. He is doing well. He has found himself a girlfriend, Lucy, that lives upstairs. They cannot get enough of each other. Chopper accidentally slipped of the rooftop and took a 8 ft fall, but no worries he came out unharmed.

Wild Animal Park

After company left we went to Escondido to the Wild Animal Park. The weather was beautiful, 88 degrees. The park was amazing. A little bit of Africa in southern California.

Company

Cory and Jared came to visit us. We all had a good time together.

Zoo

Finally made it out since the fires have started to calm down.

Was a clear sunny day at the zoo.

Ocean Beach

WENT TO OCEAN BEACH TO THE DOG BEACH. CHOPPER LOVED IT, AS YOU CAN SEE. HAD TO LEAVE THE ROUGH PLAY FOR POPPA.

Started back to work on Monday. I will be working night shift for the first three weeks and then will be back on days. The drive is not bad, only 20 min, with minimal traffic.

I was home for 8 days. I was glad to see family and friends. Kalyn is now calling me "Auntie". I also finally got to meet Joey!! It is amazing how time flies by.

San Diego

Finally settling into our new "home". Our condo is 150 ft away from the ocean and 450 ft from the bay. The weather and scenery is beautiful. Taking daily night walks on the beach and boardwalk. Cannot ask for anything more.

North to Alaska

Travled Alaska for 12 days... had complete details posted but computer crashed.

So a quick over... had a blast, beautiful scenary, saw lots of wildlife, overall great experience.

Tokette Falls and River Gorge

Weird

The Oregon Vortex, The House of Mystery. It is a vortex area that has to do with magnetic north and south which causes weird phenomenon to happen.

Crater Lake

Went to Crater Lake on Sunday. It was beautiful. We hiked to the bottom. The water was so blue and crystal clear.

Visibility up to 142 ft deep

Boatin'

Part of the movie River Wild was taped here on Rogue River, Hell's Canyon.

Saturday we went on a Jet Boat Excursion on Rogue River with our friends from the local pub. It was fun. The boat runs on 4-6 inches of water. It was a 4 hour boat ride which included dinner and all you could drink.

Haase

Our friend Carrie was in town to visit. We had a busy week. Carrie also has a friend,Kristin, that lives in Portland. So we went up to Portland and checked out the town....Saturday Market, Body Worlds, Silver Falls State Park, and the local bars. Then the three girls drove to the coast. The weather was beautiful and the seafood was delicious. We had a great week and glad to see a hometown girl.

A little update on the week

.... went to the coast(Florence/Newport area)
.... Saturday Market, Art and Wine Festival
.... drove to Sister's (saw the Cascades and beautiful waterfalls)
.... checked out Cottage Grove (local swimming holes and the covered bridges)
.... visited the Redwood State Park and Northern California Coastline

Foolin' Around

Over the weekend we went to the Saturday Market in Eugene. There was over 200 booths. The best was the fresh produce and fresh flowers. The flowers were beautiful and cheap. It is held every Saturday and we are definitely going back.

We also had a competitive weekend. We played putt-putt, darts, and cards. In the end we were pretty much tied.

New adventure

Over the weekend we went to Cougar Reservoir. We camped right on a creek that led into the McKenzie River. The water is blueish-green and crystal clear. We also checked out the hot springs (and clothing was optional). It was a nice relaxing weekend.

Trip Out

From Tucson we headed to Yosemite Park. We were hoping to camp, but who knew you had to make reservations 5 months in advance. So we had to stay at a hotel. The park was beautiful and filled with waterfalls. From Yosemite we headed up the coast to Redwood State Park. The coast was unbelievable. Chop loved the beach and tried to attack the waves. We saw sea lions and missed a spotting of a whale. The drive up the coast lead us to Redwood. We set up camp and then went hiking. The trees were amazing. The park looked prehistoric. From Redwood we headed to our final destination. On the drive we saw many Roosevelt Elk.
